Great Leagues of CSFBL - CSFBL Info Center The Classic League Link

The Classic League is in its 21st season. We're very proud to have 13 original owners still with us and 18 owners that have been here more than 10 seasons. We've been the most active league on the boards for a long time - admittedly not just because of our love of the game, but because we generally just like to hangout in TCL. We care deeply about our league history, kept in our compendium if you are interested, and also in the TCL office in bag's basement. But we've been through a lot more than the game in almost 3 years - births of kids, the arrival of an unknown kid, marriages, divorce, promotions, firings, graduations, car wrecks.....and on and on. We're a diverse group of guys all around the country and the world, ranging from high school age to jspratjr age - no women, that we know of. If you are interested in joining us, come hang around on the boards with the other rabble for a start.

Great Leagues of CSFBL - CSFBL Info Center Ha Ha Hole League Link
  • A Themed League themed on Baseball - The Ha Ha Hole is a league that revolves around CSFBL first, and comedy a close second. We pride ourselves as a league that has the ability to enjoy itself amongst its owners, while at the same time being a competitive league.
  • Crocko33 goes through and does monthly updates on post counts...and The Ha Ha Hole has been the 3rd highest volume of posts (by league) ever since it came into existence 2.5 seasons ago. Ha Ha typically finishes it's 2 round live draft before the 6/15 season date, with quick picks, high pick trade activity, and relying on nothing more than good ownership activity and PMs from owner to owner.
  • HaHa has many unique features. First and foremost, we have multiple threads that owners outside of the league partake in on a regular basis, including the CSFBL Sing Along and whatever else catches our fancy.
  • We have a small rulebook.

1.) HaHa enjoys it's yearly playoff matchups by promoting the HaHa Bracketology ,The winner of our yearly brackets wins a player rename.
2.) HaHa's Low Minors Review. This is a comprehensive ratings system for every prospect in the entire league. A ratings system is in place to rate top prospects, top farm systems, and provides a strong league history basis for all prospects,

Other top features include a yearly draft review starring Mock Kiper IV, an NBA style draft lottery, trade reviews, and comprehensive histories on awards, All Stars, MOY voting awards, power rankings, monthly standings updates, and individual team records. We trust our owners to stay within respectability in regards to win totals, trading specs, and activity requirements. We are very happy that we can rely more on the integrity of our ownership group to govern itself and just enjoy CSFBL for what it is: a game and a community of baseball crazed buddies. HaHa has only lost 3 original owners thus far, and has a current wait list of 4 owners.

Great Leagues of CSFBL - CSFBL Info CenterPCL League Link

The Pacific Coast League is themed to reflect the history of the real life Pacific Coast League which is one of baseball’s current AAA minor leagues. The original PCL was created in 1903 which is also the starting year of the CSFBL version. Team names in PCL are static and reflect historic Pacific Coast League teams. Each year we give three renames and require each to be a PCL Hall of Famer. Stadium sizes are also static and are reflective of the real life stadiums of the individual PCL historical teams.
PCL is unique in that a separate website is maintained for league members at Pacific Coast League Website. The website features league details such as the league rules and the many league awards that are granted each season. A detailed league history including league record book, hall of champions, and seasonal stat leaders can also be found on the site.
Perhaps most unique is the live draft which is held in the chatroom on the league website one evening in each season. The live draft lasts approximately 2 hours and is a unique and fun gathering for the participants during the three rounds.

Great Leagues of CSFBL - CSFBL Info Center Justice League Link
The CSFBL Justice League has a very long storied history, it was the first private league ever in CSFBL to be awarded Premier status, for 2 years straight it held the longest waitlist in CSFBL, and it was the first league ever in CSFBL to unify its members with league themed avatars.
It was also the only league where all 24 teams played in the biggest stadiums available in CSFBL, there has been one other league to follow that format since then.
Justice has recently taken on a new face, several new and exciting things are happening in Justice League, The league can now lay claim to being the ONLY premier league to complete 2 consecutine 3 round flawless Amatuer Drafts, this has been made possible with a very unique drafting style that allows every member to know exactly what day they are due to draft.

CSFBL Featured Leagues - CSFBL Info Center LOL League Link

League of Legends (LoL) - The league was the idea of one of one of the most active owners who's ever played in CSFBL, zinger... His idea was to take some of the best owners from the leagues he played in, and create the most competitive league in the game... This league is not for the faint of heart, you must have a "thick skin" to play in this league... We pride ourselves on trying to have the best owners we can, and like to think that our group of 24 owners are some of the most knowledgeable in the game. This did lead to some early turnover from owners who realized they weren't up to the activity/skill level that we required in LoL, but we have since worked to get a stable group of competitive guys... We are constantly the 2nd most active league in the game (post count wise), but 95% of our talk is about the game itself... We are not opposed to threads about other things, and like having fun as much as the next league, but first and foremost, LoL is about the competition and league... You will never find a dull moment where someone isn't talking up their players/team...We have strict win requirement/no tanking rules, and you will be docked draft pick spots for failing to reach certain win requirements or messing up the live draft. We complete the full 3 rounds of the live draft every year. As stated before, we strive to have the best competition in the game, with 24 owners all trying to win, which has resulted in crazy activity on the trade markets, where we have seen over 50+ trades in a season
Overall, if you are an owner who feels you understand the quirks of this game inside and out, and want to face some quality owners in the game, that is the kind of owner we are looking for... We have lots of other fun "forums stuff" like a live draft review, in depth stats, team pages, power rankings, etc., and if you like to post, that is an added bonus, but it is not a requirement... As long as an owner participates in the required activities then that is all we ask (outside of putting the best team on the field you can day in and day out)... but any extra activity you do provide on the forums will only add to the fun and competition (and building of the community).

CSFBL Featured Leagues - CSFBL Info Center Baseball Union League Link

Baseball Union is one of the most unique leagues in CSFBL. We are the only league to feature a different salary cap for each team in the league. Each teams salary cap is based on their attendance which is calculated based on a number of factors including talent and popularity of the players on your team. With that we have our very own draft compensation system. Whenever you release a player and they are signed by someone else you will receive a draft pick in the next draft based on the percentage of salary that player was to your teams revenue. Revenue that you do not want to use towards your cap can be banked and traded or used towards a future years salary cap. Along with that we are a very active league with lots of history. The league was started by maroon who left soon after, then tyrantCD took over as commish, when he left CSFBL for personal reasons Zinger and Scrubb took over as head commissioners. TdPenny2000 now commissions Baseball Union and has provided the league with a sense of direction and continued to recruit active owners during a time of high turnover.

CSFBL Featured Leagues - CSFBL Info Center True American Baseball League Link

TAB is a very active league with a wide variety of members in our type of owners with 11 members in the top 100 posters of all time and about 3/4 is in the top 200.The whole idea to the league is to have a laid back friendly yet competitive atmosphere as we have brother rivals, coworker rivals, and several guys who got to know each other in other leagues. We also have the unique theme of being based around American wars. We have been in crocko's top 10 posting leagues at least 2x, and are well on our way to becoming a top 25 post league, We typically look for more veteran owners; however there are a couple of slots reserved for newer owners to the game that have shown the potential to become a good owner. Every owner undergoes review before joining, but a newcomer who has shown in a public league that he can be active and competitive can recieve an invite as well.
Some of the other features of the league include
  • 1. live draft with NFL style skip up to 5 positions- have gotten deep into the 3rd round every year .
  • 2. self-voted awards with themed names- General of the Year (MOY), Ted Williams Award (MVP), Bob Feller Award (Cy Young), Trenchman of the Year (top defensive), Private of the Year (top player 25 and under), Veteran of the Year (top player 35 and over), Trevor Hoffman Award (only not themed just named to honor his accomplishment around same time as creation, but reliever of year), and New Recruit of the Year (ROY)- voting is encouraged but not mandatory
  • 3. We are in the process of starting up ballots for self-HOF (not there yet since were only in year 6 so no HOF guys yet)
  • 4. Speicialized features every year like top 10 prospects, a 1st round draft review, and rankings, as well as some other occasional add-ins.
For anything else I would encourage looking at our forums (http://forums.csfbl.com/Forums/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=1214) which include all the mentioned- a rulebook, and a league history page, as well as contact info for any member.

CSFBL Featured Leagues - CSFBL Info Center MONEYBALL LEAGUE LINK
Moneyball is where some of CSFBL's best owners compete. This is the league for good, active owners who wish to have teams in a highly structured and organized environment. Only those who want structure, organization and a highly competitive (but fun) environment should apply to Moneyball. To apply for a team when one becomes available send a pm from this message, supply the following info, and someone from the Moneyball committee will contact you quickly.
  • Length of time in CSFBL
  • Leagues you currently are involved in
  • Moneyball owners you are/were in leagues with (if any)
  • your Aim, if you have one (so we can chat).

When an opening comes up, the Moneyball Committee will vote on owners who have expressed intrest (in some cases a league wide vote will take place) One of the main goals of Moneyball is to have very low turnover, so it might take awhile but it is well worth it!

CSFBL Featured Leagues - CSFBL Info Center NORTH AMERICAN LEAGUE LINK
NAL is in only its 9th season. We have a great group of owners there, from super experienced to relatively new to the game. The league is themed around baseball leagues around North America. The four divisions are Major League, Negro League, Canadian West, and Canadian Central. NAL has completed a three round draft for three seasons in a row. While that isn't our priority, it is definitely a nice thing to have. We have some very high profile managers there including Brian himself. We also have D Man, vol67, and modenwelder among many others. The league is very busy with us finishing 10th in crocko's latest post count (and that was a slow period). Overrall we are 20th here in CSFBL. We trade a lot and have annual write-ups, many of which are highly entertaining (if you have never read a Bernie Carbohydrate write-up, you are missing out on life). The only other big thing the league has is Randy McPhee. Yeah, we love him.

MLB NewSchool League Link

MLB NewSchool has a history of good owners and competition and is now in its 30th season. Tdpenny created the league inAug 2004, but didn't actually stick around for it to be filled. The league was billed as a laid back league with very few rules and committments during the explosion of premier leagues, and therefore a little refreshing. The only real rule was to create a team that was a current team (Florida Marlins, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, ect) or a team that at least sounds like a team (Seattle Dire Salmon and Kalamazoo Wolfpack). Yeah pretty broad. The core group of owners who launched the league were CelticWarrior, casee, RedHawk, oso, MBCardsFans, jsee, myselfand others. Ownership in the league fluctuated a lot over the years with peak activity being the first decade of the league and now the last few seasons. The owners who have stuck through the league the longest have been MeadowbrookStud, casee, hawk-champ, wfn71, extreme333, Blunt, nurmdog, myself and CelticWarrior (off and on). We now have a group of commishioners which has helped a lot consisting of MeadowbrookStud, casee, hawk-champ, and myself. And we are now finding new CSFBLers joining and participating in our discussions and asking questions which is always fun. We have had great teams and players over the years such as superstuds Ryan Selby and Phillip Quijano, as well as great rivalries and franchises such as the Florida Marlins, Seattle Dire Salmon, and Texas Rangers. Also, this has never been a hostile community like you can sometimes see in the premeir leagues. It has always been a good calliber league while remaining laid back and fun, and is probably my favorite league that I have played in (which has been a lot over the years). Maybe a little behind Cards Fans, but that's a great league. This is actually a great league for new owners as we do have a core of dedicated and long time owners and we are welcoming and laid back, and we enjoy helping out.
